Upper Dublin Lutheran Church’s Belief Statement

Upper Dublin Lutheran Church teaches that our God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit:

  1. has created and is sustaining all that exists.
  2. is revealed to us in the Holy Bible, the living word by which God confronts each of us to be transformed to a new life, with new values and new commitment.
  3. has entered human history in the crucified and risen Savior, Jesus of Nazareth, redeeming us from sin and restoring us to a relationship of love and trust with God so that we might know we are loved, forgiven, saved and empowered by God's grace alone.
  4. works through the church for the redemption of creation by the power of the Holy Spirit;
  5. changes lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ calling Christians to lives of:
  6. discipleship
  7. welcome and witness to all no matter where they are on life's journey of faith
  8. sharing of God’s gifts that all might be nurtured
  9. practicing compassion and justice as signs of Christ's presence in the world.
  10. has provided a foundation for ministry in the historical witness of the Christian church - especially in the ecumenical creeds and the Lutheran Confession.
