What To Expect Sunday Morning

Come as You Are!

People gathered inside a church or community hall for a meeting or event. A woman stands reading papers near a bookshelf filled with children's books. Other individuals, including a girl in patterned pants and a man in a checked shirt, are standing or sitting near the entrance and church pews, with some talking and holding papers or drinks. In the background, there is a stained glass window and a projection screen displaying a colorful presentation.

Sunday mornings at UDLC are relaxed, welcoming, and easy to navigate. Come as you are—casual dress is the norm, and there’s no expectation beyond simply being present. We offer two styles of worship, contemporary at 8:30AM and traditional at 10:30AM, with fellowship and learning opportunities in between. Feel free to try both to see which feels like the best fit. You can read about Sunday worship and activities in more detail here.

You’re invited to participate in worship in whatever way feels right for you. Communion is offered every week, and you are welcome at God’s table, no matter your denomination or tradition.

A young boy and an elderly woman are sitting at a wooden table, engaging in a game of chess. The boy is reaching out to make a move, while the woman observes, holding a drinking glass. The woman has white curly hair, is wearing a black leather jacket, a leopard-print scarf, and earrings. Behind them, there are candles on a shelf and a wooden cross on the wall.
  • Our address is 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler, PA 19002 in Upper Dublin Township. We are easily accessible from Route 309. Our members come from over dozen surrounding communities.

  • Our sanctuary area is fully accessible. There are handicapped parking spaces and accessible doors at each entrance. Many people find the East Parking Lot (to the left of the church) easier to use because the entrance door on that side is closer to the sanctuary.

In the sanctuary, we have a hearing assist system and iPads with worship materials loaded on them.

  • Children in K-5th grades who want to go to Children’s Church during our church services can sign-in at the table in the lobby area. (We offer Children’s Church at both the 8:30 and 10:30 services.)

Our Children’s Church uses the Godly Play curriculum, which engages the spirituality and imagination of our children through story, wonder, and response.

Families will pick up their children after the service in the Godly Play classroom in the education hallway.

    More about Children’s Church.

  • Children are always welcome in worship and many help to lead worship as ushers, lectors, communion assistants, and other ways.

During the Children’s Message in the first part of each service, children are invited up to the altar to interact with the preacher about the themed lesson for the day.  Some children prefer to remain in the pews, while others are accompanied by their parents to the altar.

After the Children’s Message Children’s Church teachers lead kids grades K-5th out of the Sanctuary to the Godly Play classroom. If kids are not going to Children’s Church, they can return to their families.

  • The nursery is staffed by two paid caregivers and is available for infants through preschool from 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

  • When you enter the church through the main entrance, you’ll be in the lobby area.

To the left is the sanctuary and gathering area. You’ll see screens and signs with church program news, a sign-up desk for Children’s Church as well as people greeting each other and having coffee.

To the right is the hall to the nursery and education wing. Bathrooms are also on the right.

Straight ahead is the hallway to the 8:30 summer outdoor worship service in Roland’s Glen.

Signs will help you find your way or just ask one of our members for directions. They’ll be delighted to help and guide you.

  • As you enter the sanctuary, ushers will give you a bulletin to follow the worship service, but most of the information will be on screens at the front. You are free to sit anywhere. When you arrive in your pew, you’ll see a visitor welcome card with QR code links to information about our church, ways to get connected.

  • At our 8:30 a.m. contemporary service, our band, For the Spirit, provides a combination of original songs and music by contemporary Christian groups and other artists. At our 10:30 a.m. traditional service, we sing hymns accompanied by organ and our choir. Special musical ensembles, including our kids, play and sing on various Sundays and services throughout the year.

  • If you have a few minutes to spare between services, stop by the coffee bar—we call this the Son Room—which also has tea, juice and light snacks. If the weather is nice, step outside to the adjacent garden. You are welcome to take your coffee into the sanctuary. Coffee and tea runs all morning.

  • From May to September, our 8:30 Service worships outside in our beautiful Outdoor Chapel. Set in a grove of trees, it is a beautiful setting for worship. Learn more.
