7:45am Contemporary Holy Communion Worship
The 7:45 service has a combination of traditional liturgical elements and contemporary worship music. We receive Communion every Sunday, we have an open mic sharing time where people can share their joys or concerns, and music is provided by our band, For the Spirit. The 7:45 service is probably our most close knit service. Sharing the peace is notoriously long! Maybe there is something that getting up so early in the morning bonds people together. The service usually ends around 8:45am.
9:00am Informal Worship
Our most popular service, 9:00 AM worship is designed to be an informal, relaxed, and family-friendly service. (There's a lot more sitting than standing.) It has all the great things about worship but without the traditional formalities. We only receive Communion on the first Sunday of each month. Again, we have an open mic sharing time where people can share their joys or concerns, and For the Spirit band provides the music. During the months of June through September our 9:00 AM service is held outdoors in the woods behind the church building in our outdoor chapel, which we all Roland's Glen. It is a beautiful setting for worship in nature, surrounded by a canopy of trees. When the weather makes outdoor worship impossible, we gather in the sanctuary. The service usually ends around 10:00am.
10:30am Traditional Worship
The 10:30 am service is a traditional service of Lutheran liturgy (lots of sitting and standing) and Communion is offered every Sunday. If you come from a Catholic or Episcopal tradition, this service will feel very familiar to you. The music is played primarily on the organ or piano and the adult chancel choir sings each Sunday expect for in the summertime. The service usually ends around 11:45am.
At our church everyone is welcome at God’s table for Communion. No matter your denomination or tradition, or if you have none at all, you are welcome at the table and we hope that you will come.
